What we use
Getix Translate uses no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies and no third-party trackers. We store only what the product needs to work, on your own device:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| gxt_session | Cookie (HTTP-only, Secure; strictly necessary). Set when you sign in, and valid on both getixtranslate.com and app.getixtranslate.com | Keeps you signed in | Persistent, not a session cookie: it lasts 30 days, or until you sign out, whichever comes first |
| gx_reg | Cookie (HTTP-only, Secure; strictly necessary). Set only when you sign up with an email address and we ask you to confirm it | Holds your sign-up details, encrypted and with the password already hashed, while you enter the confirmation code we emailed you. Nothing is saved in our database until you enter it | Up to 75 minutes: each code works for 15 minutes, and the cookie stays up to an hour longer so that you can ask for a new code. Deleted as soon as your account is created |
| __Secure-gx_apple | Cookie (HTTP-only, Secure; strictly necessary). Set only when you choose “Continue with Apple”, where we offer it | Protects your sign-in with Apple: it holds, encrypted, the one-time security values (state and nonce) that let us check that Apple’s reply belongs to the sign-in you started, together with what you chose on our sign-up screen (the Terms box and any details or code you entered) | Up to 10 minutes; deleted as soon as you come back from Apple |
| __Secure-gx_apple_p | Cookie (HTTP-only, Secure; strictly necessary). Set only if you use “Continue with Apple” for the first time and your account cannot be created on that step, for example because you started from the sign-in screen and have not yet agreed to the Terms | Keeps, encrypted, the name and email address Apple sent us, because Apple shares your name only once, so that you do not have to type them when you finish signing up | Up to 15 minutes; deleted as soon as your account is created or you sign in |
| gx-* and getix-* keys | localStorage (functional, set at your request) | Your preferences: interface language, theme, subtitle size, meeting languages and how often you use each of them (to show your usual languages first), voices and term packs, recording and transcript-saving choices, and the one-time acknowledgement of this notice | Until you clear site data |
| gx-* keys | localStorage (functional) | The state of meetings you run in this browser (room code, meeting-bot status, which tab is hosting); the invitation or referral code from a link you opened, under the key gx-ref, so that your gift or first-purchase discount, and the reward for the person who invited you, can be applied when you register; your support-chat thread reference; hints you have dismissed; and troubleshooting switches you turn on yourself | Until you clear site data; meeting entries expire on their own. The referral code also stays until you clear site data, and you can remove it that way at any time |
| gx-* keys | sessionStorage (functional) | Identifies this browser tab during a live meeting and keeps your support-chat conversation open if the tab reloads | Until you close the tab |
| gx-replay, getix-archive | IndexedDB (functional, set at your request) | The local copy of a recording you started and the local history of your transcripts; never uploaded unless you turn on “Cloud copy” | Until you delete the recording or transcript, or clear site data |
All of the above is first-party storage: it is written and read only by Getix Translate. Strictly necessary storage, and functional storage created at your explicit request, do not require consent under the ePrivacy rules (Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC; Article 22.2 of the Spanish LSSI); we still show a one-time notice so you know exactly what is used. Exceptions: if you use “Continue with Google”, Google (Google Ireland Ltd.) sets its own cookies and storage inside its sign-in widget and pop-up, governed by Google’s Privacy Policy; we load Google’s sign-in code only on the sign-in and sign-up screens. If you use “Continue with Apple”, where we offer it, we load no Apple code on our pages: we take you to Apple’s own sign-in page, and any cookies or storage used there are set by Apple (Apple Distribution International Ltd.) on its own website, governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. Apple then sends you back to us.
Service-quality measurements
During a meeting the app counts technical events in memory (reconnections, delays, errors) and sends the totals to our own server at the end, so that we can keep the service reliable. Nothing is stored on your device for this, no identifier is created for it, and the content of your meeting is never included. This is about the quality of the connection, not about your behaviour, which is why we can still say we run no analytics.
Payments
Online payments are not switched on yet. When they are, the payment screen will be the only place where code from our payment provider runs, and the provider will set its own cookies there: a session cookie and a device identifier used to process the payment securely and to prevent fraud. Those are strictly necessary for a payment you asked for, they are governed by the provider’s own cookie policy, and they are not used for advertising. No payment provider code runs anywhere else on the site.
If this ever changes
We have no advertising or analytics technology today, which is why there is no consent banner on this site: storage that is strictly necessary, or functional and created at your request, does not need consent. If we ever add advertising or analytics cookies, pixels, tags or similar technologies, we will ask for your consent first, with “Accept” and “Reject” offered as plainly as each other. Nothing of that kind will load before you agree, withdrawing consent will be as easy as giving it, and this page will be updated with a new version date before any of it goes live.
How to clear
Sign out to end the session cookie, and clear site data in your browser to remove localStorage and sessionStorage entries. To remove local recordings and transcript history, delete them in the app or clear site data.
